Jay Meyers

Founder and President

Summary

Jay Meyers is a 17-year payment and information technology veteran. His experience includes hands-on software development, strategic consulting, technology team building and management. He has developed payment solutions and enterprise software for national retailers, private label card issuers and worldwide acquirers.

Jay’s technical proficiencies include secure software development; application lifecycle management; database design, maintenance and administration; software quality assurance; usability; web application development and desktop application development. He has hands on programming experience in multiple languages for various distributed software platforms.

 

Work History

Before founding Seijak Payment Consulting, Jay served as chief information officer for ZipLine, a provider of private-label debit products for the convenience store industry. His responsibilities included overseeing systems and application development, the company’s proprietary processing platform, and product and project management teams.

 

He also led ZipLine’s ISO27001 and PCI DSS compliance program, standardized and optimized the data center and computing infrastructure, and implemented Agile Development practices.

He came to ZipLine from EVO Payments International, a global merchant acquirer and payment processor. As senior vice president of software development, Jay led a 100-member international IT team developing customized systems for onboarding merchants into VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. He also contributed to converging onboarding platforms and integrating them with new front- and back-end payment transaction processing platforms.

Jay moved to EVO after it purchased his previous employer, PowerPay LLC, in 2012. After the acquisition, he led efforts to customize PowerPay’s merchant account provisioning, underwriting, onboarding, and risk management systems to support EVO’s global expansion.

Prior to that, at PowerPay, Jay was responsible for IT infrastructure, software development, compliance, and product development as senior vice president of information technology. He was promoted to the position after rising through the ranks from software engineer, to manager of software development, to director of information technology.

 

Education

Jay’s technology career began in 2002 at Dover, N.H., educational assessment company Measured Progress as an information systems programmer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in economics from the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business and Economics.

 

Inspiration

Jay is a lifelong taekwondo enthusiast and a sixth-degree black belt master instructor. He named the company “seijak” after the Korean word used to command students to focus and “begin.”
