His responsibilities included overseeing systems and application development, the company’s proprietary processing platform, and product and project management teams.

He also led ZipLine’s ISO27001 and PCI DSS compliance program, standardized and optimized the data center and computing infrastructure, and implemented Agile Development practices.

He came to ZipLine from EVO Payments International, a global merchant acquirer and payment processor. As senior vice president of software development, Jay led a 100-member international IT team developing customized systems for onboarding merchants into VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. He also contributed to converging onboarding platforms and integrating them with new front- and back-end payment transaction processing platforms.

Jay moved to EVO after it purchased his previous employer, PowerPay LLC, in 2012. After the acquisition, he led efforts to customize PowerPay’s merchant account provisioning, underwriting, onboarding, and risk management systems to support EVO’s global expansion.

Prior to that, at PowerPay, Jay was responsible for IT infrastructure, software development, compliance, and product development as senior vice president of information technology. He was promoted to the position after rising through the ranks from software engineer, to manager of software development, to director of information technology.

Jay’s technology career began in 2002 at Dover, N.H., educational assessment company Measured Progress as an information systems programmer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in economics from the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business and Economics.
